 What makes this senior living community interesting? 

Ashleigh at Landsdowne helps complete a pleasant setting of 55+ housing options on the banks of the Potomac.  Situated next to Landsdowne Woods of Virginia (formally Leisure World) and the Landsdowne Resort, this stately southern-style assisted living will welcome residents to live in a variety of 115 apartment options. Twenty-two of those units will provide memory care.  Ten apartments will include ground-floor patios and residents will enjoy the raised-bed gardening. Giving back to the community is planned with residents helping local volunteer organizations.

Rounding out the amenities, there will be a physical therapy and rehab services, a theatre, a full service Spa and a Bistro serving beer and wine.  Ashleigh offers move-in specials until June that include paid moving services and 20% off the first month’s rent.

 What makes this senior living community interesting? 

Brightview has the ambiance and the amenities to provide an independent lifestyle, but where residents can age-in-place in their own apartment. This 100-unit (70 assisted and 30 memory care) community was inspired by the adjacent Holmes Run Acres neighborhood.  Holmes Run is preserved as a historical landmark and is on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. Brightview Woodburn will be constructed in a mid-century modern architectural style.

Based in Baltimore, MD, and privately-held, Brightview always includes up to 5 hours of care each week in their monthly cost (includes limited medication management). Their award-winning dementia care is called Wellspring Village®.  It focuses on better overall communication including the techniques needed to learn about the person with dementia, the exercises to foster greater empathy, understanding behavior causes, and more.  Opening specials may still be available to make this very attractive community in an attractive location a very attractive value.

 The Crossings at Chantilly wisely delivers a full-continuum senior housing and care in Chantilly, VA with no large, upfront entrance fees. The 161-unit community will encompass 101 independent living apartments (some with balconies) and nine (9) different floor plans options.  Couples will find The Crossings comfortable with several floor plans over 1,000 square feet. There are 36 assisted living apartments with seven (7) floor plans and 24 memory care apartments with six (6) different floor plans. Amenities include cherry cabinets, granite counters, farm-to-table cuisine, a pub, and washer/dryers in each independent living apartment.

Taking it further, The Crossings’ residents have priority access to the 166-bed in-patient skilled nursing and rehabilitation next door.
